Collider Activity Center

Sofia, Bulgaria

The design for the new Collider Activity Center is not only supposed to be the location of Walltopia`s headquarters - the world´s leading producer of climbing walls - but also a sports- and show centre for climbing activities.

As the urban environment of the plot is characterized by an inhomogeneous texture, the new  Activity Center creates a powerful solitaire, which is silhouetted against the urban surrounding. It is generating an independent attraction pole with a high originality.

The building is organized in a radial system, where the two main functions, offices and sports areas are winding around the climbing hall, which is located in the centre of the building. As the climbing hall is the interface between the company and their clients, everything centres on it, and allows multiple visual connections from all the other areas.

The building reflects the interpretation of vertical movement and combines the idea of concentrating different functions in one building, as the different volumes are stacked together generating synergies in the process of product-creation.
